ILV Berlin - Winter 05

ILV Berlin - Winter 05

4 - 13 March 2005

The institute for living voice is

... an INTERNATIONAL CENTRE offering workshops, concerts, discussions and special events focused on singing.
... open to anyone who is interested in the vocal arts and the human voice.
... an "EXPLORATORY”, not a conservatory.
... a HOME for the exploration of the human voice in all its manifestations: classical, opera, jazz, experimental, alternative rock, new pop, world music, folk, traditional, blues, sacred and profane.
... workshops, concerts, roundtable discussions, forums and new vocal compositions.
... a place to mix, measure and share the lively variety of contemporary vocal music.
... a MEETING PLACE: at the ILV, master-singers and students from around the world meet, sing together, exchange ideas about the human voice, hear each other's voices in concert, have meals together and plan projects for the future.
... a "NOMAD” INSTITUTE. Each session discovers the pleasures of a new city: Gent, Bruges, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Melbourne, Berlin, Marseilles, Basel, London ...
... ONGOING COLLABORATIONS with international art institutions and Festivals: Kunstencentrum Vooruit, Gent - Kong Workshop Centre, Gent - Brugge, Cultural Capital 2002 - Cultuurcentrum Brugge - Concertgebouw Brugge - Holland Festival, Amsterdam - Fabrica, Italy - Montevideo, Marseilles – deSingel, Antwerp - International Festival of Melbourne and Chamber Made Opera, Australia - Gare du Nord, Basel, ... .
