Biography Christoph Homberger (CH)

After training as a singer with Ruth Rohner and Gösta Winbergh, Christoph Homberger began a successful career as an oratorio and concert singer. His many concerts have taken him as a soloist to the world's major concert halls, such as London"s Wigmore Hall, Tonhalle Zürich, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Carnegie Hall New York, the Musikverein Wien and the Salle Pleyel Paris. He works regularly with internationally renowned directors, theatre-makers and musicians. These close collaborations with Christoph Marthaler, Herbert Wernicke, Hans Neuenfels, Claus Peymann, Mauricio Kagel, Frank Castorf and Johan Simons have had a profound and lasting effect. Increasingly, he is dedicating himself to unusual and experimental music theatre projects and developing roles that connect music and theatre, singing and acting in unique ways. In numerous productions and guest performances, he has appeared at major theatres and opera houses such as the Volksbühne Berlin, the Schauspielhaus Zurich, the Opera Bastille Paris, the Staatsoper Hanover and the Teatro La Fenice in Venice.
