Biography David Moss (USA)

David Moss is considered one of the most innovative singers and percussionists in contemporary music. He has performed his solo and theatre work all over the world. In 1991 he received a Guggenheim Fellowship; in 1992, a DAAD Fellowship. Moss is the co-founder and artistic director of the Institute for Living Voice and starting 2008 a Fellow at the new "Institute for Advanced Studies: Theatre Cultures” in Berlin. This year, Moss performed in Surrogate Cities with Simon Rattle. He also sang in a new production of Olga Neuwirth's Lost Highway at the English National Opera. In September he will premiere new choir pieces at the “Osnabrück Singt” festival. In 2007, Moss premiered David Lunaire: Pierrot Lunaire re-set with Alter Ego ensemble and was soloist with Ensemble Resonanz in Schoenberg"s Ode to Napoleon. He curated the CD project Blood, Muscle, Air; performed with Sam Auinger/Hannes Strobl in the Hometown project; and was featured in a video installation by Adel Abdessemed.
