Biography Julien Ferrando (France)

Pianist and harpsichordist Julien Ferrando is oriented towards baroque music. He studies Gregorian chant with Pierre-Marie Chemla and the "organetto" with Christophe Deslignes.  He is currently finishing a thesis about the musical rhetoric in the political motets of the Court of Avignon.
From 2002 to 2004, he was in residence at the Royaumont Foundation as part of a research project on the interpretation and development of repertory for the Roman organ.
He is a member of the Diabolus in Musica  ensemble and JUBAL.
He also teaches at the University of Aix en Provence, and directs a course on the interpretation of medieval music.
